To say that the design for the Tesla Cybertruck is polarizing would be an understatement. Its unique look has been a talking point since its inception. With this design, there is a lack of door handles, which most vehicles have. This choice was likely made to make the car as efficient as possible, however, it doesn’t change the fact that it can be quite confusing when trying to enter the Cybertruck for the first time. Continue reading for steps on how to open the doors of a Tesla Cybertruck.

Opening and Closing Doors from Outside

The doors of the Cybertruck are electrically powered unlike the Model 3 or Y. When approaching the car while carrying a phone key, the vehicle will automatically unlock. To open a door, press the exterior door release button on the pillar to the right of each door. Tesla has provided a visual for your reference.

Doors can also be opened using the Tesla mobile app. To close a door from the outside, manually push it shut.

CAUTION: Use caution when opening and closing the Cybertruck doors from the outside. Always grasp the door at the top and keep hands and fingers away from the opening edge, as it’s quite sharp. See the image from Tesla to get a better understanding. Failure to do so could result in injury.

Opening Doors from the Interior

Similar to other vehicles in the Tesla lineup, to open the doors from the inside there’s a designated button. Simply press the interior door open button and push the door open. You can enable a child lock to prevent kids from successfully opening them.

NOTE: If any door is open while sitting in your car, the Door Open indicator will appear on the touchscreen.

The steps on how to open the doors of a Tesla Cybertruck are straightforward. When approaching the car from the outside with your phone key present, it’ll automatically unlock. Next, simply press the exterior door release button on the pillar to the right of each door. This will open the doors slightly, which you can then pull open. From inside the vehicle, press the interior door open button and then push the door open.
